The creatine kinase (M-type) CK01 corresponds to the human CKM gene. The enzyme reversibly catalyzes the transfer of phosphate between ATP and various phosphogens (e.g. creatine phosphate). CK01 can be used as ATP regeneration system in kinase reactions.
