The poly(U) polymerase PUP01 is a mesophilic enzyme of eukaryotic origin. The enzyme catalyzes the terminal uridylation of mRNAs with short poly(U) tails, hence facilitating global mRNA decay. PUP requires an oligoribonucleotide or polyribonucleotide with a free terminal 3'-OH as a primer. Also possesses a weak poly(A) polymerase (PAP) activity.

The terminal deoxynucleoside transferase TdT01 is a mesophilic enzyme of eukaryotic origin. This enzyme is a template-independent DNA polymerase which catalyzes the random addition of a deoxynucleoside 5'-triphosphate to the 3'-end of a DNA initiator one nucleotide at a time. It cannot initiate a chain de novo. Also accepts ribonucleotides.

EC Number

2.7.7.31

CAS Number

9027-67-2

Catalyzed reaction(s)

2'-deoxyribonucleoside 5'-triphosphate + DNAn = diphosphate + DNAn+1
